[fanart] So there's this old series called Galaxy Fraulein Yuna
This is fanart for the old 90’s anime OVA (and, I understand, series of games—though I’m not familiar with them) Galaxy Fraulein Yuna. Enormous hair, giant robots, schoolgirls saving the world with their army of space girlfriends, that sort of thing. The first two episode OVA was goofy fun. The second was really pretty good, even if it did break my heart, since GF Yuna is one of those series that left me hanging on a “Wrath of Khan” without ever giving me a “Search for Spock” to make everything okay again. As far as my favorite character and favorite couple go.
So speaking of my favorite couple from the show, I just had to draw some Yuna/Ayako. Ayako’s the little tragic android from the second three episode OVA of Galaxy Fraulein Yuna and of course Yuna’s the titular magical girl…or I guess mecha girl who befriends her ferociously until she turns over to the good side. (my favorite trope of all time)
I also had to throw in Polylina, Yuna’s lady version of Tuxedo Mask (yes, Yuna has a lady version of Tuxedo Mask).
And just to explain exactly what I’ve drawn here—Ayako is an android, after all, and she detaches different parts of herself throughout the show, and occasionally needs to be repaired. Also she can walk through walls, hence the semi-transparency, and the little glowing sphere there is equivalent to her hard drive. And you’ve just got to pass the time while waiting for your arms to be reattached somehow (and if you temporarily have no arms, that rules out at least one way of passing the time without a buddy, so.).
